Clinical Trials

Vista Veterinary Specialists is committed to providing the most advanced diagnostic and treatment options for our patients. Sometimes, this means going a step further and actually assisting in the development of those options. To that end, Vista is pleased to participate in clinical trials that seek to provide the larger veterinary community with answers, and select patients with what may be their only hope for treatment.

Internal Medicine

Canine Inflammatory Bowel Disease

A cooperative study to determine if fat derived mesenchymal stem cells can decrease the abnormal immune response and inflammation in dogs with IBD and result in disease remission. The purpose of this study is to investigate the efficacy of a new stem cell therapy for canine IBD and better understand how stem cells work to limit inflammation and repair gut tissue. This study is a collaborative effort between our Gastroenterology and Regenerative Medicine groups, respectively led by Drs. Stan Marks and Dori Borjesson, and Vista Veterinary Specialists.
