What is Integrative Veterinary Medicine?

Integrative Veterinary Medicine is a broad discipline that includes and combines several different aspects of whole-pet care. Techniques blend western medicine with holistic approaches to treatment, and can include spinal manipulation, acupuncture, physical therapy and rehabilitation, and nutrition. Doctors on our team who practice integrative medicine take a whole-pet approach to therapy; patients are evaluated on the basis of their environment, disease, condition or pain score, and lifestyle, as well as results from other diagnostic modalities such as blood tests, ultrasound and radiographs (x-rays). Our Integrative practitioners work with with our other services to ensure your pet’s condition is addressed from all angles. Integrative medicine treatments are non-invasive or minimally invasive, gentle, and are often considered for pets with complex conditions, patients who are not surgical candidates, seniors and young healthy pets or canine athletes. Our therapists and doctors will work with you to determine your goals for your pet’s care, and will develop a customized treatment plan with these in mind.
