About
Dr. Vida is a graduate of the University of California at Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, where he obtained his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM). He completed a small animal medical and surgical internship at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital in San Diego, CA before returning to UC Davis to complete a residency in small animal surgery. He then worked as a clinical instructor in the surgery department at UC Davis before entering private practice in the Sacramento area.
In 2011, Dr. Vida fulfilled a long-term professional goal of providing advanced emergency and specialty care to Northern California by founding Vista Veterinary Specialists. Dr. Vida’s special surgical interests include cruciate ligament disease (TPLO, CBLO, Arthrex TightRope system), limb deformities, vascular anomalies, oncologic surgery and minimally invasive surgery. He is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (DACVS-SA).
When not performing surgery, Dr. Vida spends as much time as possible with his wife, two rambunctious boys and muppet-like Spinone, Sir George Jelly.
