About

Dr. Nathan Bailiff majored in Integrative Biology at the University of California, Berkeley and went on graduate from the veterinary school at the University of California, Davis in 2000, obtaining his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. He completed a rotating internship at North Carolina State University in 2001 and a residency in small animal internal medicine at the University of California, Davis in 2003. He spent time as a lecturer at UC Davis and became board certified, becoming a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2004. Since 2006 Dr. Bailiff has been serving the greater Sacramento region in private practice and joined Vista Veterinary Specialists in 2015. Dr. Bailiff has many interests within internal medicine including, but not limited to, immune-mediated diseases, endocrine disorders, and illnesses of the kidneys and gastrointestinal tract. He also enjoys providing minimally invasive endoscopy services including gastric and esophageal foreign body removal, laparoscopy, and endoscopy of the gastrointestinal, respiratory, and urinary tracts.

Outside of work, Dr. Bailiff practices Tae Kwon Do as a third-degree black belt under both ITF and Kukkiwon and helps instruct regularly at a Sacramento area studio. Since 2015 he has also played an active role coaching boys youth lacrosse. Dr. Bailiff also enjoys traveling with his family and watching action movies.
